Second public consultation held for Stirches Renewable Energy Park

On Thursday 03 April, ib vogt UK held the second and final public consultation for the proposed Stirches Renewable Energy Park development, a solar farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on land northeast of Hawick Substation.
The in-person event took place in Hawick Town Hall between 15:00 and 19:00 and was attended by 55 visitors including Hawick residents, business owners, elected representatives and tradespeople.
The event shared key updates to the project, including the initial findings from environmental surveys, and detailed the progress made since the initial consultation held in November 2024.
Photomontages allowed visitors to assess the visual impact of the development, while updated project design graphics displayed the precise location of the solar farm and BESS.
The consultation served as a valuable opportunity to hear from stakeholders, answer questions, discuss the community benefit fund and shed more light on the proposed development.
