As a responsible solar developer, ib vogt UK is committed to maximising the safety of the communities in the vicinity of our renewable projects. Our proven 20-year track record of faultless projects speaks to the quality, safety and security of our solar developments across the UK and globally.

Stirches Renewable Energy Park has been developed following the strictest safety protocol, with the latest technology and models implemented to enhance safety measures for the development and prevent risk.

While the risks associated with BESS are incredibly low, and the BESS on site is a smaller 30MW, compared to the standard 50MW BESS facilities, we appreciate some residents may have concerns.

We would like to offer reassurance that Stirches Renewable Energy Park has undertaken precautions to ensure the safety of the site and surrounding areas. This includes:

  • A comprehensive fire and risk mitigation protocol and will comply with fire safety requirements and health and safety laws.
  • A full fire and risk assessment and a BESS Safety Management Plan (BSMP) to maximise the safety on-site.
  • Stirches Renewable Energy Park meets requirements of all local and national guidance on grid scale battery energy storage systems.
  • The BESS proposed for the development is certified to industry standards, following the principles for battery safety including risk prevention, low risk battery technology proven; equipment monitoring, and incident suppression methods activated upon the detection of fire, smoke, or other gases to prevent a runaway event.
  • Stirches Renewable Energy Park is open to working with fire risk consultants to address some commonly asked questions and concerns.

The rates of risk for BESS are very low, with new technology and safety measures further minimising risk.

We are happy to answer any questions residents may have about the proposal.
