First public consultation held for Stirches Renewable Energy Park

HAWICK, NOVEMBER – On Thursday 07 November, ib vogt UK held the first of two public consultations for the proposed development of Stirches Renewable Energy Park, which will include ground-mounted solar panels, a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), and associated equipment on land northeast of Hawick Substation.

Event overview

The in-person consultation took place at Hawick Community Hall between 15:00 an 19:00 and was attended by 65 visitors comprising of residents living nearby to the site, business owners and tradespeople.

The event served as a valuable opportunity to share the proposed plans for the development, hear from stakeholders, answer questions, and discuss potential uses for the Community Benefit Fund.

Next Steps

The insights and feedback provided by those who attended the consultation will be taken onboard as we develop the detailed designs and complete surveys of the site. These will be presented in a second public consultation in April 2025.
